Cute plant shop located in downtown Frederick! The shop had a bunch of common and a handful of harder to find plants. The most unique thing about this shop was that they had a did flower bar! There were at least 12 different varieties that you could build a bouquet with! The shop also offers pots, stickers, and other plant care items. I believe the person there was the shop owner but she was super helpful and knowledgeable! The prices here I thought were personally a bit higher than other shops I have been to but I am not as familiar with surrounding stores. For the price though, the quality of the plants were matched so I did not have a problem paying a few bucks more.

We loved Take Root! Such a cool, thoughtfully curated plant shop with an amazing variety. We came home with a goldfish plant, a string of turtles, and a truly special begonia — all healthy and gorgeous. The owner was fantastic: knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely excited to recommend unique plants. You can tell how much care goes into every detail here. We’ll definitely be back (and can’t wait to check out one of their events)!
Two green thumbs up for this spot! As someone who is new to the world of plants, the owner made sure I was off to the races with clear, care instructions. Glad to have this spot within walking distance - will return!
The owner is fantastic! So so happy to have such a wonderful shop in Downtown. Love the variety of plants and the pots are SO cool. Highly recommend to stop by for any occasion!

Came into this shop on a random Wednesday, hoping I’d finally find a plant nursery/shop that does not sell buddhas/buddha heads as decor (spoiler: this is the spot!! 🥰) . That was an important requirement for where I purchase plants, because it’s 2025, we need to stop normalizing using the head of religious figures as decor. Being from a background where Buddhism is huge to my ancestors/ancestors country of origin. The Buddha head is a very disrespectful “decoration” to own, let alone sell, because of the history behind it. You’d never just go out and buy a head of Jesus as “decor”. I’ve been searching around the entire DMV area and it’s almost impossible to find shops/nursuries that don’t sell buddhas/buddha heads as decor. But finally after searching so many places, I’m so grateful I found this shop!! I love the attention to detail this shop has! I love that they also have labels for pet friendly plants (as a fur mommy, this is so important to me). The employees are very kind and helpful! Aesthetically the shop is very pleasing to the eye and they sell a lot of really cute accessories for you and your plant babies! Overall 10/10 shop & experience. I will definitely be making the drive to come back to this shop, and I recommend this store for anyone looking for plants, and wanting to spend their money on a shop that is considerate of being respectful to other cultures/religions! Bonus points for their cute/thoughtful packaging of the plants I purchased 🥰
