Piedmont Plants Nursery, located in Rural Hall, North Carolina, is a specialized horticultural nursery dedicated to the propagation and cultivation of plants native to the Piedmont region. The business prioritizes ecological integrity by utilizing locally collected seeds, which ensures that their botanical inventory is genetically adapted to the specific soil and climate conditions of North Carolina. Their core mission focuses on supporting local biodiversity, providing essential resources for regional pollinators, birds, and wildlife. The nursery caters primarily to homeowners and gardeners looking to establish sustainable, low-maintenance landscapes or native pollinator gardens. This nursery is comfortably my favorite in Winston Salem. I managed nurseries for years, and I was truly impressed by their depth of knowledge. Every plant in the nursery was native, hardy, and well grown. While it is a small nursery (for now), It was clear that every plant was selected intentionally. Everything was surprisingly affordable, considering many of these plants are not available elsewhere. For a nursery that is only a few months old, they are off to an incredible start. If you are a plant geek, want something you know will be hardy, or just want to support a great local family business, you need to stop by. I highly recommend it.

I was so excited to see so many native flowers. I even bought a silky dogwood!

Beautiful nursery with a good selection of native plants for many different soil/sun/water conditions and a kind and helpful owner. Had a great experience last weekend and was able to pick up several additions to my native perennial garden! Very useful information about the available plants on their website as well. I look forward to seeing how they grow in the future.
