I have been buying from Alan for over 20 years I would highly recommend them to anyone. When I started my landscaping company he taught me a lot about trees and shrubs.

For two years I was looking for a sourwood and some low-maintenance cultivars of flowering dogwood. I could not find them in any nurseries in city of 200,000 people. I found some nurseries in middle Tennessee that carry them, but when I called them, they flippantly told me that they were for wholesale only! Thus, discovering Cherry Creek was my unbelievable luck. It carries a lot of good cultivars, and it sells to retail customers. Above all, the owner Alan is very friendly. This is why we drove 100 miles to Cherry Creek in the fall of 2021 and bought 2 Cherokee Brave dogwood, a sourwood, and 2 pawpaw trees. The first three are doing great. The sourwood is especially beautiful, with a crooked bonsai-like trunk, early summer white flowers, and brilliant crimson foliage that lasting until December. I planted 4 bare-root sourwoods from another nursery and none of them survived. So I'm going to Cherry Creek for another field-grown sourwood. To justify the long drive, I might as well pick up a Satomi dogwood and a purple prince crabapple.

Last year I purchased a Little Gem magnolia, Crape Myrtle, a dogwood , and two redbud trees. All between 8-10ft tall. I then came back for 10 green velvet boxwoods. We planted in the spring. A year later, all are doing fantastic. Alan was incredibly helpful answering all care and planting questions I had. If you plant correctly and take proper care, you will be rewarded. I haven’t lost one tree or shrub and had never planted trees before. Alan even took me around to show me lots of other stock and educated me on various ornamentals they carry. I can’t say enough good things about the nursery and owner. He loves his work, the stock is healthy, and prices fair. I’ll be there again this spring for more.
