It must have been my bad day because I ran into the rudest front office agent at Matt’s. I went in around 2:15 and this person was enjoying his ice cream bar and gave me the impression that I was an intruder in the place. I told him that I was looking for 30 cacti - mix of barrel and agave. He asked me why I had not sent in my landscaper. I told him that he was busy and I had shopped there myself before. He told me that was an exception and therefore he couldn’t sell me plants. He also told me that he had spoken to my landscaper about it. I asked him how he’d even have known my landscaper because I had not mentioned any names. This made me suspect that he wanted me to just disappear and not disturb his ice cream time. I told him that I had read that they do sell retail and perhaps I was misinformed. He then asked me if I needed the cacti to be planted. I said I’d be interested in that service and asked him why he had not been a bit more patient before dismissing me and saying that he wouldn’t sell to me. He got even more sour (his ice cream was melting) and told me that he hated customers like me and I should go to Moon Valley instead. I walked out really amazed not just at his really awful treatment of a customer but also trying to think why I had set him off in the first place. I am unsure if it was a language problem. I still don’t know what triggered him BUT I hope the owner reads this and tells this person to behave better . He could be losing customers if this is the way his front office behaves. Very sad indeed.

We had a problem getting a quote. After taking a ride to his farm I selected a few large cats and smaller desert plants. He has a great selection. We set a price to deliver and install. Great price. Great workers. I am happy with work. I will be using them again in future.

So glad I found Matt's Cactus Farm! I needed several tons of decorative granite to finish a backyard project, and this was the ONLY place in the Valley that had the color of rock that matched. Matt, Fidel and Jose are the best. They got me on a short-notice delivery list, and their two-man crew arrived on time and did a great job. We will be going back to Matt's for all of our landscaping needs!
