Very helpful staff, good selection of pet supplies, and all the garden/ lawn care products are designed for the Treasure Valley without any of the harmful chemicals you don't want to put back into the ground water. And I like supporting a local company instead of the big box stores.

Zamzows presents itself as a company built around knowledgeable service, animal health, quality, and value. In my experience, the employees genuinely reflect those priorities. Unfortunately, the products being sold do not always meet the same standard. I paid $200 for a Kaytee cage sold for rats. Within two months, my rats had chewed multiple holes through the plastic base, including holes larger than my fist, making the cage unusable and creating an obvious escape and safety risk. This was not caused by a lack of care or enrichment. Our rats are handled regularly, given toys, climbing opportunities, varied foods, and consistent interaction. They chewed through the cage because rats chew. That is one of the most basic and predictable facts about the animal. A product sold specifically to house rats should be capable of safely containing rats. At $200, customers should not be discovering within eight weeks that the primary structure is made from a material the intended animal can simply destroy. What makes this especially disappointing is that Zamzows’ staff appear to genuinely care about the animals they sell. I do not understand why that concern is not reflected in the standards used to select the products sold for those animals. Selling an unsuitable cage at a premium price does not represent quality, value, or responsible animal care. Zamzows should seriously reevaluate whether products like this belong on its shelves.

The people in the fish department have been extremely helpful to my grandson who has been setting up his first fish tank! Highly recommend the high quality of the fish.
