About the Nursery

Specialty Perennial Garden Nursery. Top products: Long-blooming perennials, Rare and unusual cultivars, Handcrafted steel plant supports, Dahlia and Peony support structures. Lux Perennials Nursery is a specialized horticultural operation located in Portland, Oregon, centered around an extensive two-acre English-style display garden. The nursery focuses on the cultivation and sale of over 300 varieties of perennials, with a specific emphasis on plants characterized by long blooming cycles, vibrant colors, and rare cultivars. Their operational model is unique in that they propagate the majority of their inventory directly from 'mother' plants located within their own display gardens, allowing customers to observe mature specimens in situ before purchase. In addition to plant stock, the nursery produces handcrafted steel plant supports designed for structural gardening needs, such as supporting Dahlias, Peonies, and climbing vines. Catering to local homeowners and garden enthusiasts, the business also provides on-site garden consulting services and hosts educational tours and 'Garden Chats.' The facility serves as both an active retail nursery and an inspirational garden environment.

A beautiful and unique garden store. It was a wonderful journey to get there, and they have some great plants as well. Very well curated. Will be back.

I wrote a glowing review of Lux Perennials a few years ago which apparently didn't get posted (probably because of pilot error). I went ahead and posted that and now I'm posting again because we returned this weekend and had another lovely time purchasing beautiful healthy plants and touring the stunning backyard which the owner allows customers to roam. This is a wonderful destination for an outing, and when the weather is beautiful, you can see Mount Baker, Mount Saint Helens, Mount Rainier, Mount Adams, and Mount Hood.

Lovely visit. Beautiful grounds and of course garden. It was very nice to shop their nursery as you can purchase plants and you have seen in their garden. Will certainly refer this garden to my friends to visit and shop
