About the Nursery

Boxwood and Topiary Nursery. Top products: Boxwood, Topiary, Shrubs, Estate Size Trees, Perennials, Native Plants. Founded in 2002 by Peter Lynn, Pomarius Nursery is a boutique retail plant nursery located in the Northwest District of Portland, Oregon. The business specializes in high-quality, architecturally significant plant material, with a specific focus on Boxwood and curated topiary specimens. Their inventory includes various cultivars of English, German, and Dwarf Boxwood, as well as shaped topiaries made from Spruce, Italian Cypress, Arbutus, Ligustrum, and Hydrangea. Beyond their signature topiary collection, the nursery offers a diverse range of Pacific Northwest native plants, succulents, perennials, and estate-sized trees suitable for both terrace pots and traditional garden landscapes. Operating as an independent, family-owned establishment, Pomarius Nursery distinguishes itself by presenting plants in designed vignettes to serve as inspiration for gardeners and design enthusiasts. In addition to their retail horticultural operations, the site functions as an 'Orangerie' venue for events and provides garden design services, catering to residential homeowners and design professionals seeking distinctive, structured, and elegant botanical elements.

I was looking for a larger pot for a plant and when I searched for nurseries in the area, Pomarius showed up! This is my new favorite plant shop. They have a huge variety and things are very fairly priced. Walking through here is a whimsical treat and the employees are so kind — one asked me if I wanted a drainage hole for my new pot and did it at no extra charge. I can’t wait to come back.

Very beautiful venue. Found a plant I wanted to purchase even at their inflated prices, but could never find where to pay for it nor any staff to ask questions. Finally put the plant back and left. I recommend it for an outing, but don't plan on making any purchases.

Well worth a visit. If you're looking for Edgeworthia, they have several hundred as of April 2026!
