what is the little white packet enclosed with the Red Base Amaryllis Flower bulb with stand?
Are there instuctuctions for care of the bulb?

Accepted Answer

The white packet is a heat pack that helps to insulate and keep the bulbs from freezing when in transit. You may discard the white packet. 
The stand is waxed into the bulb.
The waxed amaryllis may arrive in a dormant state or with little growth. A bud may be present on some waxed amaryllis but not all. Waxed amaryllis should be placed in a warm location for optimal growth. Growth and blooms will occur within 4-8 weeks of receiving the bulb. No need to water or plant the waxed amaryllis.

I just purchased potato vine start pack. Do I plant in dirt and when they get larger do a cover in dirt as they grow like spids?

  Thank you for your recent order and question about planting the potato vine starters. If you are growing these for the sweet potatoes, yes, make sure the tubers are covered. If you are growing them for the ornamental foliage coming off the vine you should not continue to cover the foliage.

I just received a cold amaryllis bulb with no instructions, except "No water needed."  What does it need?

No worries Corine, you may grow it in a pot with dirt, provide good drainage, do not overwater, and make sure the bulb picks out of the dirt to get the light. Or you can force it in water, just place it on top of the jar with water, do not submerge.  The bulb needs bright sunlight and warmth, you will see the blooms within a month... They sent me great bulbs last year, I had multiple blooms from one bulb.  As soon as a flower stalk fades, cut it off, the new would appear, if the bulb is fat enough.  After blooming stopped, cut the flower stalks, and put your bulb into a flower pot with dirt for the spring and summer. I keep mine outside all summer long, then bring back in Sept, cut leaves and store the bulb in the fridge until Nov Dec. Then the cycle repeats... Merry Christmas and very happy 2023 with lots of blooms!

Hi. I received my lily bulbs yesterday :) So I have not started them in pots before. Do I just go ahead and plant them according to their depth requirements right now and place in a cool area with bright light ? Then they can be put in garden ?

Hi Julie,

Plant the lily bulbs in pots 4-6" deep. Place them in a cool area that is above freezing. Bright light is not required initially as they are growing roots below the surface. When they sprout and you can see above ground growth that is when more light becomes necessary. When the temperatures warm up in spring and it is safe to plant they can transplanted into the garden.
