Bought a weeping cherry tree there. Everyone that worked there was nice and very knowledgeable. They helped me pick on the perfect tree for where I was going to plant it. The tree was competitively priced. I transported and planted it myself, so can’t speak on that aspect of the company. If I’m in the area again, I will definitely stop by.
I had bought a topiary last year that didnt survive the winter. I went and asked if they offered any rebates for plants that don’t survive the winter, and they ended up replacing the tree free of charge! amazing customer service, I can’t recommend this nursery enough!
Fantastic place 💯
DO NOT BUY TREES HERE OR LET THEM PLANT TREES ON YOUR PROPERTY – Believe the other one star reviews about this place. They might be fine for smaller purchases but after the experience I had here I would never buy trees here and I certainly would never let Sweet Valley plant them for you. I bought 8 trees there and they did a terrible job planting them. As the pictures show they left the nylon straps tied tightly around all of the trees and did not unwrap the burlap at all once the trees were in the ground. Even worse, they buried the root flares of all the trees, in some cases a good five inches underground. (root flare should never be underground) They even planted damaged trees and pretended that they were fine. I had to figure this all out myself by pulling back the mulch. I had to spend my own time and effort exposing the root flares because when I brought it to the attention of the manager Chris he tried to convince me it was fine. Had I not figured this out the trees may have survived past their “guarantee” at which point Sweet Valley would say it is not their problem. I don’t mind mistakes being made if people try to fix them, but they will just double down and tell you it is fine and lie. I am sure some people don’t know any better so they just get away with it. Chris tried to tell me that the tree with the plastic tie strangling it was totally fine and would heal which is ridiculous. He was very dismissive and said they would get to it when they had time, as if they were doing me a favor. I had to insist on a replacement tree which they begrudgingly provided. I had all the trees planted in the fall and I watered and took care of them. By early spring one of them was already dying because it had also been planted with damage similar to the other tree because a tie was left around the trunk too long. Since they are supposed to have a guarantee on their trees I asked to have it replaced and Chris tried to tell me it died because of deer damage even though I had pointed out the original damage in the fall.(And I have had deer damage on other trees and know what it looks like) Even when I confronted Chris about the damage he was very dismissive. They didn’t care that I was a repeat customer that had spent thousands of dollars there. You will have to be very persistent to get even some of your money back and that is only when you confront him in person with other customers present. Even then I didn’t get back as much as I should have. Good luck!
